[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

The score is now Malcolm 3, toilet paper 0. Check out Bob's Daynotes to see the pictures and story from yesterday's escapades. For new readers, a few weeks ago I posted some pictures the first time Malcolm discovered the toilet paper roll in the bathroom.  He was a little pup then and could not reach things up on counter. Now he is bigger and has learned the joys of thieving things off counters and tables.  We have to be diligent about closing the door to every room in the house when we come and go.

Yesterday I returned home from the gym and was going from room to room putting things away and tidying up a bit.  I heard the dreaded shredding noises and found Malcolm on the stairs playing with the stolen tissue roll. I managed to salvage most of the roll although it was a bit chomped in places. I cleaned up the shreds, made sure the bathroom door was closed this time and proceeded to try and get some work done.

After lunch I took a shower and took off for the library to volunteer for a few hours. When I returned, Bob had his today page up on my computer with the pictures and story ready. You can read the story, but the bottom line is Malcolm thieved the same role of paper, destroyed it in the den and hall, and left the tube in the kitchen. And people who think because we don't have children, we do not lead exciting lives!

I am still experiencing weirdness with my Plextor 2000 CD software. It hosed my system up again yesterday. Bob will need to look at it closer to determine if this version is buggy and see if there is a newer one out.

I get all the free stuff that Bob receives from vendors. I have t-shirts, caps, sticky notes, pens, etc. some mainly because the shirts and hats Bob will not wear and they would not fit him anyway. Yesterday he got this neat wrist rest from Antec for me to try. My new Microsoft keyboard came with a wrist rest attached, but I am going to try the new one out to see if it helps my wrists even more.

Years of sports and a bit of arthritis cause my hands and wrists to bother me periodically when I type/mouse for too long. I have a wrist rest mouse pad, but if this new type wrist rest works, I may see if they make a similar one in mouse pads.

I am going over to my folks for lunch today and then going out to take a picture of a rescue BC for our web site.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

Bob checked on the problem with my CD software. There is not an upgrade version and he does not know what is causing the system to lose its mind when I play CD's.

My new vacuum is great, but I am blowing all the circuitry in the house. With all Bob's computers plus lights, I am pulling too many amps on this old house wiring. When I clean, Bob has to shut down all non-essential PC's and I have to vacuum practically in the dark. So much for having a well built, but old house.

I plan to work on my web site today and gets some other paper work out of the way.

It is almost time for NASCAR racing to gear back up. I am looking forward to the new season and seeing some of the rookie drivers make their move up to Winston Cup. Next Sunday is the kick off Sunday in Daytona with the Bud Shootout. Drivers can shake their cars down for the first time and new crews can work the kinks out.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

I am writing this on Monday night, since I will be pressed for time in the morning. We have finally had enough of a thaw for the golf course to open. My dad and I are playing in the morning. By the time I get the dogs settled, paper read, and breakfast, I will need to leave for the course. We have not played in several weeks and I have started to miss playing. I love the snow and cold weather, but I am also used to be able to play golf pretty much all year round.

Monday was a good start to the week. I had a good spinning class at the gym and a good workout.

I got some work done on the web site and some professional journals read through. I feel like I am walking through cement with this web site development.

With the mud season upon us, I have replaced the sofa cushions with the older set that we took off a couple of years ago. That is the nice thing about This End Up furniture. If you want a new look, just buy or replace the cushion covers. Bob helped me take off the new covers and put on the old ones over the backs and ottomans. We just reinstalled the big cushions that we sit on. When I ordered the new denim covers I ordered foam and covers for the big cushions that we sit on. I am now in the process of washing those. ones. The old ones were a crushed velvet blue with little dots. They were not really machine washable and had started to look a little worse for wear.

Between us and the dogs they get a lot of wear, dirt and hair. I try to vacuum them every week, but some of it will not come off. Now we have a new/old look for winter and I will put the denim ones back on this summer. It seems that the old fabric looks rather rejuvenated after being rested for a few years.

I had a few minutes tonight to start my next book, The Vision of Emma Blau. I really enjoyed her earlier work Stones from the River. I find her to be a very talented and literary writer. Of the first twenty or so pages I have had time to read, I feel like I am hooked into the story already.  She has a great gift for developing her characters to make them very vivid in your mind as you read about them. After I have read a little further into the book, I will do a review on my favorites page.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

It's funny about this diary that I have started. At first I would only write my updates on the day Bob published. If I had an early appointment or could not get my diary updated before Bob was ready to publish, I waited until the next day.

Now I have started working on the next day the night before and then if I am home the next morning adding any additional stuff before Bob publishes.

Now that we are in the first full week of February, I have to be the "tax police". Bob hates to do the taxes so he always has waited until the last minute. I don't care if he waits to send them the last day, but not do them Around here, one never knows what can come up the last minute that would be an urgency or an emergency that would preclude getting them done on time. With the business, he has to do two, which is a double dose of medicine for him. So, now once a week I ask the big question "have you started on the taxes"? Depending on the progress of things, by mid March that question can become bi-weekly.

Dad and I did not play very well in our first round of golf in three weeks. But, we had fun and got some fresh air and exercise. The course still had right much snow on some of the fairways. We had to play some par fours as par threes anyway which skewed the score on two holes.

Today is errand day. Store, gym, drugstore, etc. I am off to get started. I want to take Duncan and Malcolm out to the farm of one of our CBCR volunteers. Her ewes had lambs on Monday. It gives Duncan a chance to run around and chase sheep. It will be Malcolm's first outing to a farm. Supposed to be a nice warm day.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

Not really much of an update today. I am taking a rescue dog to the vet for a check up this morning to get her cleared for spay surgery. Cute little girl. Six years old, blind in one eye. She was abused on a farm and bred repeatedly. We hope to find a nice quiet home for her. She is very sweet and mellow after the way she was treated and should be easy to place.

Bob finished another chapter yesterday. Since I took Malcolm and Duncan to the farm to a couple of hours, he had a nice quiet afternoon to get some work done. Malcolm barked at the sheep but Becca could not work them, so Duncan did not get a chance to work them. But they got to run around and play with other dogs in the wide open spaces for a couple of hours. When we got home we had to have a dog wash. So I bathed all three dogs since it was relatively warm outside. I hate doing it inside.
