[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

I got home around 4:30 from Charlotte. It was a fun but very tiring weekend. With the time change and early morning risings I was pretty exhausted.

Saturday was a long day, leaving Winston at 6:30 and getting to Charlotte right at 8:00. We got the tent and tables set up and organized in about half an hour. I was in charge of the tickets for the dinner that night as well as keeping the booth going. It was a beautiful day and a lot of fun to be outside. I wondered in to watch the flyball races and talk to people.

I headed over to the hotel in the afternoon to get checked in and then came back. It was pretty close to the kennel club where the event was being held. After the BBQ dinner I headed back to the hotel pretty tired. I read for a while and then went to sleep.

Back at the club by 7:30 the next morning. It was raining by the time I got there. I put the tables inside and we set up indoors for the day. The advantage to outdoors is not having to listen to the dogs barking all day, especially when they are running a race. All the dogs bark, not just the ones running. But, it was not too bad. About 2:00 we had done about all the business we were going to do. I started packing up to head home. I had to bring the big tent home for the next event in addition to all the other stuff.

I listened to the race driving home and watched the remainder while I fixed dinner and rested. It was a good race. I was glad to see Dale Earnhardt Jr. win his first race.

I took a short nap and then finished unpacking and putting away clean clothes from Bob doing the laundry.

The dogs were glad to see me. I had to give them a lot of play time and attention to make up for being gone.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

I have a busy week. I leave for Georgetown on Wednesday for the AIIP convention that runs until Sunday. I will go to the gym this morning and then do my weekly house cleaning this afternoon. The big problem is the rain. I need to mow before I leave town. It is supposed to rain off and on all day today and tomorrow. I can't leave it until I get home because it will be too high. If the rain breaks off, I will have to mow it wet, which is real hard to do in the spring when the grass is so sappy already.

I need to pack and get all the meeting stuff rounded up and go to the grocery store as well. So, the next two days will be pretty action packed. I am looking forward to the conference and meeting some of the people I talk with via e-mail or the list serve.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

I have finally recovered from the time change despite being up half the night with sick dogs. Switching from standard time to daylight savings time always wipes me out for a few days. That, coupled with the very busy weekend left me pretty wiped out yesterday. I did my spinning class in the morning. After lunch I mowed the grass while we had a break in the rain. It was wet as heck and hard to mow but I managed.

By the afternoon I was  whacked. I took  a shower and tried to do some computer work but was struggling so hard to concentrate I bagged it. I hit the couch at 3:00 and woke up at 5:00. I felt much better.

Malcolm woke me around 2 am pestering to go out. I took him out to pee and we came back in. An hour later he was pestering me again. Since he sleeps pretty good all night I guessed he was not feeling well. Out we go again for him to have a small bout of diarrhea. Just as I got him settled, Duncan started his hurkle, gurkle noises indicating he was going to throw up. I raced him to the door and out while I cleaned that up. We finally all settled after that and managed to get some sleep. Even the dogs are laying around sleeping this morning instead of pestering me to play.

I will doing a light house clean this morning and go to the store. I can pack this afternoon. Bob and I will go out for dinner and cruise the library so he and his mom will have books to read while I am gone.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

When people always ask me why I do Border Collie rescue and why they need rescued I wish I could show them this. http://www.hsfn.org/animals/scout.htm. Look at the reason this poor sweet dog is up for adoption in New Hampshire.

Yesterday afternoon I needed a video camera. Malcolm and Duncan were playing chase. Malcolm had a stick and Duncan was chasing him trying to get it from him. They ran around and around, with Malcolm changing directions and weaving and dodging. He finally let Duncan get one end and they played tug for a few minutes. Than Malcolm took it and off they went on another chase.

Last night our friend Steve Tucker stopped by with the kids Andrew and Katie for a visit. The dogs really enjoyed having three new people to pester and play with. After they left both went down for long naps to rest for awhile.

I am off to DC. I am looking forward to the conference.

Look for a new post on Monday of next week.
