[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

Bob gave me some good ideas for marketing my services. I am going to start working on those today. At some point this weekend we are also going to disassemble his big computer in his office and see if we can determine why it is over heating.

He also needs to upgrade my machine to something that will support USB so we can get the scanner working again. I can remember back when I had my first PC. Bob would tell me he needed to change operating systems or upgrade software and I would panic. I was not as comfortable at coping with the bugs and quirks that can occur with a new system or software. Now, when he announces "I think I will upgrade or change your system to ?", I just say bring it on.

There is only one software package I never have managed to master to the extent that I could use it comfortably and that was Microsoft Access. After repeated workshops and studying manuals, I never did master it very well. I could use it but never did get very far with it. I finally gave up and went back to Excel, which I use for everything imaginable.

Otherwise, I just tell him to load whatever he wants me to use. I still have to yell for help periodically and I do not try to fix system problems. Since we are on a network, I leave those to Bob. I am still learning the complex operations of Outlook.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. Malcolm is demanding some playtime. Better go.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

Bob lost an entire day of work to help me redo my web pages. We redesigned the business pages and separated them off from my personal pages.

Today is cleaning, racing, and golf. Most likely be a nap in there somewhere too.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

Today I am having lunch with some friends. It is also voting day in NC. I will take Lenore over this afternoon and she and I will vote. Bob is a registered Libertarian and can only vote for Governor.

I will continue working on my pages and getting them all revised. I also need to do some more work on the genealogy pages.

I finished the Louise Dickinson Rich trilogy and decided to start a real book. I am reading Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's November 1916. I have loved Russian fiction since I was in high school and read War and Peace, which I reread about once every five years. I love both Russian born authors and fiction about the Russian country, primarily up to the 1918 revolution. My favorite movie is Fiddler On The Roof and of course Dr. Zhivago. Another work I read twice, once in high school and once in college is Nicholas and Alexandra by Robert K. Massie.

I am not sure when I began my fascination with Russian History and the Czarist rule. I have read countless biographies of Peter the Great, Tolstoy, Catherine the Great, etc. Their lives and the time period do not fascinate me as much as it did but I still enjoy reading a Russian work of fiction periodically.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

My page transformations are coming along nicely. I still have some work to do, but am getting there. After I go to the gym and store this morning I am taking the dogs out to the farm for a visit. Duncan can't work the sheep but he and Malcolm can run around and play with the other dogs.

Becca and I have some dogs things to discuss and a few CBCR items. I am taking a sandwich and we will eat lunch and let the dogs play while we talk.

I have some things to do in the yard that I will get to I hope this week. Bushes need trimmed and ferilized, weeds pulled, etc.

And, Bob is working on his big system to see why it is overheating. I am helping him with that too.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

Not much going on. I am playing golf this morning with my dad. Will work this afternoon on web pages and other things.

We had a nice visit at the farm yesterday. Malcolm got to work the sheep a few minutes.

When we got back home I decided since it was a nice warm day to bath the dogs. It is much less mess when I can do it outside using the hose. All three got baths and of course I get one in the process. I always have to shower after I am finished with them anyway.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

It is going to be such a beautiful day that I am going to work in the yard. I have a lot to do but I enjoy being outdoors and use it as a substitute for a hard physical workout at the gym.

Tomorrow I will be in Asheboro all day for a Dogfest. CBCR will have a table set up to sell stuff and talk to people about rescue. There will be Frisbee and flyball demonstrations and food. These things have become sort of an animal carnival. They are a lot of fun and help to raise money and awareness for the animal population.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.
