[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

I have added a couple of pictures of Duncan when he was a puppy to the Border Collie page. I will add a few more of him later.

I am going over to my sister's house this morning to help her with some yard stuff. She needs to go to the lawn and garden store to get some mulch and landscaping bricks. I will help her this morning. It is to be 90 degrees plus today. I fully intend to get finished and home before it gets too hot this afternoon.

Malcolm did not get his x-rays or eye scrape done yesterday. Right after Sue prepped him, the x-ray machine blew up or something and they could not do them. I picked him up around 3:00. Poor guy has to go back Tuesday to do it all over again.

And this from Marcia about the much anticipated recipe page.

The URL for the recipe page is http://recipes.dutchgirl.net/index.html.

There is going to be a permanent link from the Netwidows webpage and one

going back to the Netwidows webpage as well as each individual recipe

            page.

Marcia hopes to have it live by the end of the weekend.

If you are really reading this on Saturday, I hope you have a good weekend.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

The dogs were up early this morning and I was awake so we got up about 6:15. Malcolm is still not old enough to learn about sleeping until we are ready to get up. I took them out and got the paper to read.

After I ate some breakfast, I came back and worked on a web site review for the Electronic Resources Review that is due the first of July. I tried to keep the dogs quiet so Bob could sleep in for a while.

It is Sunday morning house cleaning followed by watching the race. I took my afternoon nap yesterday when I returned from helping Frances in the yard. Maybe I won't need one this afternoon, who knows.

I have a lot to do this week. I am leaving Thursday to drive up to Pennsylvania with my mom and dad. Dad is going up for his high school reunion and I am going along to visit relatives and a friend of mine and Bob's. She lived here for a long time until she moved to PA for a new job. She is married and has two children. Three years ago I was up there with my folks and I visited her. She lived very near my Aunt and Uncle.

Back to this week. I need to go to the store, get packed, mow the yard, etc. to get things ready for me to be gone. We will not be back until Monday. I am looking forward to the trip. On the way up we are stopping to visit one of my cousins that I have not seen since I was about 15.

Guess I better get busy.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

The Netwidows Recipe Page is up and running. This will be a fun ongoing project. Marcia did a great job getting it up and running. By the way, make sure you notice the "bookish barbara" theme of my pages that Marcia came up with. She gave each of our pages a special look based on our hobbies or occupations.

And speaking of up an running. I have the first page of the Technomayhem site going up today. I have a lot of pages to add and Bob had some things to do for his portion of the site. Once we get everything in place, I will maintain the site and keep it current. Bob started on this project last year and I took over getting it organized. Instead of putting it up on another site, we decided to tie it in with my Research for Authors business pages.

I also reworked some of my personal pages yesterday since I was adding a link to the recipe page anyway.

I started watching the race but as usual fell asleep about 50 laps into it. Bob had already gone back to nap and the dogs had settled down after a morning of playing and helping me clean house. When I woke up, and hour and a half later, it was raining in Michigan and the race was red flagged.

I came back and started working on the web site and a review I am writing. I woke Bob around 5:15 so I could start dinner.

The forecast for today was for temperatures be even hotter than yesterday. It also looked like some thunderstorms not predicted to get here until Tuesday were hovering just north of us today. I decided to go ahead a mow the lawn while it was somewhat cooler and the grass was nice and dry.

With the high temperatures and dry conditions I will wait to put out my summer fertilizer when I come back.

No gym today. I slipped again, this time from wet feet on the hardwood, and sprained my knee. Fortunately the weight training has strengthened those muscles and the pull was minor. It is still a bit stiff and sore this morning, so I will not risk injuring it again.

Plus, I have a thousand things to do to get ready to go out of town. This morning I need to run several errand and will go to the grocery store.

Happy Monday to all!

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

The freezer is now stocked with four frozen dinners each for Bob and Lenore. At least I know they will be getting something fairly decent to eat. They are all Stouffer's but one and I think it is a Banquet.

My mail quite working yesterday afternoon for some reason. As of this morning it is still not working. Bob's mail is find because he pops off a different address. I pop off of BellSouth, who cannot seem to find what the problem is.

I worked most of yesterday on the TechnoMayhem web pages. I have several more going live this morning. The pages are rather sparse in content but at least I am getting the site up and running. Some of the pages Bob will have to do because I do not have the knowledge in those areas. I search for links but cannot write the content.

Malcolm and Kerry go to the vet this morning. Malcolm to get his hips and eye checked and Kerry to check out his bladder problems.

When I get back I am going to wash the car. I will wait to vacuum it out after we retrieve the dogs from the vet this afternoon. Most likely that will be on my Wednesday to-do list.

I want to spend most today doing more work on the TechnoMayhem stuff. I also have some ideas of some other pages I want to add. I may start roughing those out today as I think of things.

We had Father's Day last night since Mom and Dad and I will be gone Sunday. Frances took them out to dinner and then they came by here for ice cream and cake and gifts.

I haven't done a quote for a while, so I will use one from my favorite little book Don't Sweat The Small Stuff... by Richard Carlson. I have my favorites highlighted in yellow and from time to time just pick it up and read some.

"We take our own goals so seriously that we forget to have fun along the way, and we forget to cut ourselves some slack. We take simple preferences and turn them into conditions for our own happiness. Or, we beat ourselves up if we can't meet our self-created deadlines..."Life isn't an emergency."  p.62

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

The "mailer demon" better known as BellSouth. net has bit us in the butt. It started Monday afternoon. All of sudden I could not get mail. It was all bouncing to Bob. I had no mail most of yesterday. Last in the afternoon a few messages started coming through. Then, I was getting mail but could not send mail. Last night it was both.  Need I say more.

I got this e-mail from Marcia Bilbrey about the recipe pages.

We've had 315 page reads since Saturday!! That's amazing and it isn't

only us checking to see set-up and stuff either!

I am very happy to see that we are getting some traffic this early on the site.

I worked all day yesterday on my TechnoMayhem site. I have a lot of work to do, but it is coming along nicely. I have some new pages going up today. With getting ready to go out of town, I am not sure I will get any more done until I get back.

Speaking of which. Bob is going to post for my while I am gone. I am writing my Friday - Monday diary pages and leaving them for Bob to post. If I can access a PC while I am in PA, I will e-mail him updates. too. IF he can get mail. We supposedly go live with Road Runner service Thursday which if it works well, we can dump BellSouth.

Lot's to do. Vacuum the car, pack, get my diary pages ready, errands, etc. We are eating out for dinner and going to the library, so I don't have to worry about fixing dinner. I washed both troopers yesterday morning.

The dogs are fine. Malcolm has no arthritis but may have HD in the left hip. His eye was fine, we are keeping a watch on it to see if the red area gets any bigger.

Kerry is fine too. I am going by the vet this morning and picking up some medicine to help his urination problem. All is well. I made the mistake of getting out my suitcase yesterday while I had a few minutes. Duncan moped around all day. He knows what that suitcase means, that I am going away. Too smart for this own good.

I will be back Tuesday, until then, enjoy reading my remote posts.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

I sat down yesterday afternoon and posted today's entry. I wrote Friday - Monday for Bob to post for me. If I can get to a PC while I am away, I will e-mail him updates to post along with those.

I slept at my parents house so as not to wake up my household at 5:00 am. However, I am not sure it would have mattered since Malcolm woke me yesterday about the same time.

We will drive about an hour or so and then stop for breakfast at a Cracker Barrel right after we get on hwy 81 N. Then we drive for about three hours and stop for lunch. We should  reach New Oxford, PA by mid--afternoon. Once we get checked in to our hotel, I will call my cousin and let her know we have arrived. She works at the Brethren Home where her father, my dad's brother lives.

We will visit with him and then meet my cousin's husband, son,  and daughter-in-law for dinner. I have not seen my cousin for at least 30 years. We became reunited via e-mail a couple of years ago when her son, David began doing family genealogy and e-mailed me for copies of my research. This being pre-web site, where the Fritchman genealogy is now out there for the world to see.

We will have a long day, so I imagine we will return to the hotel pretty early. It is actually right across the street from the Home making it very convenient.

Tomorrow we head to Allentown after a stop in York.

[Last Week] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Next Week]

[Following material written by me on June 14 and posted for me by Bob on June 16, 2000. BFT]

Hello from New Oxford, PA. Assuming all went well, we visited my Uncle in the rest home, had dinner with my cousin and her son and wife and bedded down for the night in our hotel.

Today we plan to make a stop for a few hours in York, PA. on our way to Allentown. After we check in to our hotel for the remainder of our stay, we will go over to my Aunt and Uncles to go out to dinner. It has always been a tradition ever since I was a child, the first night in town we would go to the Brass Rail for steak sandwiches. If you live up north you may not realize that you cannot get a real, Pennsylvania Dutch steak sandwich down south. It is actually hard to get a Philly one too, although many restaurants try to imitate but fail.

I imagine we will return to the hotel soon after arriving back at my Aunt's and Uncle's as we will have had a long day and they go to bed very early.

Have a good weekend.
