[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Finished up The Game last night by Laurie R. King. The second half of the book was much better than the first half. This was not as good an effort as her previous books in the series but still worth reading.

This afternoon I did hand pictures for Bob until time to fix dinner. I have just returned from Body Pump class. I have a new assignment from Tom to get started on plus some other work, so I best get started.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

I am reading the newest Carolyn Hart, Murder Walks the Plank. I was only able to stay awake last night long enough to read a couple of chapters but so far it seems to be up to par with her other books in the series. Annie Laurance, proud owner of the Death On Demand bookstore in Browards Rock, SC has organized a one night mystery cruise to raise money for the literacy. There will of course, be the usual murder and mayhem aboard ship, as she and her husband Max along with Hart's usual cast of characters pursue the murderer.

Today was one of the dark, dreary, cold rain type days. The temperatures never climbed out of the high 40's. We actually need some rain. I noticed when I mowed Sunday the little bare patches I have in some of the areas of the yard were looking hard panned and dry.

More hand pictures this afternoon in-between getting caught up on mail, etc. before dinner and then spinning class.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

malcolm-helping-build-pc.jpg (47243 bytes)  Bob took a picture of Malcolm helping with the hand shots this afternoon.

We had another wet, dreary day. Once we get past this wet weather and get some warm temperatures mother nature will really start showing her spring colors. I noticed this afternoon the azaleas have buds on them and my red bud tree just popped out over night. Most of my spring bulbs, the daffodils and jonquils, have been in bloom for several weeks now.

Time to get back to work.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Friday could not have arrived any sooner. It has been rather long week for both of us. Yesterday, by the time I got home from running errands, fixing dinner, and checking my mail it was time for the WSAL meeting which was being held here.

Bob has finished shooting pictures for the pc we have been building all week which gave me this afternoon free to work straight through until dinner as soon as I got home from work.

We just got back in from walking the dogs after dinner and man is it cold and windy. I know they had snow in the mountains today and are expected to get some tonight.

I hope you have a great weekend whatever your plans may be. It promises to be a fairly busy one here.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Busy day. After a quick cardio workout at the gym this morning I drove out to one of our premier lawn and garden shops to pick up some bushes. I also selected a couple of small height ground covers to try in the beds around my trees and the one by the porch. If they do well I will get some more later.

It was almost 11 by the time I got back home. After an early lunch I headed outdoors. First I planted to two smaller bushes in my new natural area in back. I will gradually fill that area over time. Next, I dug up the dead bush in front of the house and replaced it with my new one then planted the ground covers. I also picked up two dwarf variegated azaleas for the two planters on either side of the front walk. After the planting I mowed the lawn then washed my car. Needless to say by this time I was getting tired.

After my shower I checked my mail and did some work until time to fix dinner. I plan to spend the evening relaxing and reading while I watch the Final Four. Our friends, Paul and Mary, both went to Duke post grad. I have been a Duke fan since I was in high school. Paul went to undergrad at Okalahoma who is playing Georgia Tech, another ACC team. Duke plays UConn. Both should be good games.

Between the clouds and the wind it never really got all that warm today although while I was digging and planting I worked up a pretty good sweat with a t-shirt and sweatshirt on. I think a cold front is to move in tomorrow with some pretty strong winds.

I did sit up last night and finished reading Murder Walks the Plank. Very enjoyable.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

As Pooh would say,  "It was rather a blustery day at the Hundred Acre Wood", which pretty much sums up our weather for today. We did not play golf. Although the temperatures were to be in the mid 40's and lots of sunshine the winds were forecast to be anywhere from 15 to 20 mph with 30 mph gusts. Since I play golf for fun I consider those conditions "not fun". Instead after the doing the normal vacuuming and bathroom cleaning I mopped most of the floors in the house. With the lawn now lush and green in most places and this week to be dry up until the end of the week, I have four days before they will get tracked up again.

Once I finished up the house work I went over to mom and dad's for lunch. Around noon we picked up KFC and brought it back to the house just as Frances and Al arrived on their way back from a weekend bus trip to Atlantic city. We had a nice lunch/visit before everyone dispersed to their respective abodes to get on with the afternoon.

I took the dogs down to visit to Emma for a few minutes then watched the last third of the race from Texas. The evening will be the usual read and relax until time for bed.

Duke lost or should I say, threw the game away last night to UConn but Georgia Tech won. Even with daylight savings time I sat up and watched/read until the end of the game making it well past midnight before turning off the light.
