[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Hot and muggy. I went to the gym after work. We had some thunderstorms north and west of us but nothing seemed to be making it this far. I told Bob I would eat then mow the lawn since the forecast for the entire week is afternoon/evening thunderstorms. By the time I had fixed dinner and eaten a storm just north of us started drifting this way. I can hear thunder off in the distance but so far no rain.

If it misses us I still may try to get the lawn mowed. Otherwise, not really much to report.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Just after I posted last night the winds came up, the skies darkened and the rains came.  It started about 7:30 and was still going after nine. It was one of those slow movers. We got some rain but had more thunder and lightening than anything else. We finally took the dogs out front for a quick out then off to bed. It was well after 10 before ti moved on through.

More rain and storms this afternoon. The sun came out about the time. Since I mulch rather than catch the grass in the summer it may be too wet to mow but I may give it a try in a little while anyway. If it gets too high it does not mulch very well and the forecast is more of the same for the rest of the week.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Finally, the lawn is mowed. I called Bob this afternoon and told him if it was not raining and there was no rain in the surrounding area I would come home and mow then go to the grocery store. We could stop and pick up something to eat on the way.

When I got home Bob said he would fix rice in the microwave and another vegetable for dinner while I mowed. We were not desperate for anything at the store so I can do that tomorrow night. As it stands right now, the skies are partly cloudy but no storms in the area. I am sure Duncan and Malcolm are glad to have a night off from the thunder. Last night I had decided to go ahead and try mowing with the grass wet when another storm blew up.

I did finish reading the J.P. .Beaumont. I started an Anne Perry at lunch today.

We are watching the first episode of Mapp and Lucia starring Prunella Scales, Geraldine McEwan, and Nigel Hawthorne. We are enjoying the first episode. Set in 1930, they are quit funny in depicting the usual gossip and social climbing of the rich and want to be rich in a small English village.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Not really much in the way of news. This week seemed like it was ten days long. I have been tired and cranky all week. It should not be the heat since it does not bother me but...who knows.

We did get a little break in the weather today. At lunch it was a blissful 76 degrees with some clouds. I sat on the wall by the parking garage and read instead of walking.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

The weekly house cleaning chores are completed. I washed a huge basket of my work pants and shirts which means I now have an over flowing basket of ironing for tomorrow.

We are getting a nice midsummer break in the weather. Today is cool, windy, and sunny. Only a high of 81 today and lows tonight back down in the 60's. I had the dogs out back to play some ball and run around some.

I am getting ready to leave for the library. The Friends are hosting a big event this afternoon. We have been selling raffle tickets for prizes for the last couple of weeks in the lobby of the library. In addition to the prize drawings we have crafts for the kids, a storyteller, etc. to wrap up the end of the library summer reading program. The money from the sale of tickets goes in our funds to purchase things for the library. Should be a lot of fun. I am the official photographer for the event.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Lovely, lazy day. I took the day off from golf. Slept in until 9:15 and spent the morning reading the paper and watching the British Open. Around 11 I did get dressed then fixed brunch since I got up too late to eat breakfast.

After lunch I ironed, and ironed, and ironed...There are not too many things I hate doing inside or out but ironing is one of them. I am not a cloths horse therefore I do not own a lot of cloths. During the summer I run dangerously low on shirts, tops and pants. With the hot weather I go through them a lot faster. Plus, in the winter I wear a lot of cords that can be washed and not ironed, tops and blouses and can often be worn more than once, etc. I let my work clothing basket get too full before I did a load this time.

I took dogs out for playtime before mowing the lawn. The weather is nice again today. We just barely made it into the 80's today. The girls were out back playing with Gerald watching them. The dogs and I visited for a awhile before I put them back inside. I decided to go ahead and mow today so I would not have to play games with Mother Nature dodging storms all week. We have had some rain but I noticed the plants need a little watering later on this afternoon.

Once I finish up here it is back to the den to watch the ladies play golf and the PGA guys who did not go to the British.
