[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

I took this picture yesterday in the front yard. We took him with us Frances and Al's yesterday afternoon for Easter dinner. Mom gave him a stuffed sheep that has squeakers in the paws and belly. He loves that toy. He played with all last night. Bob said he played with it some more today. He was really good at Frances'. He layed on the deck playing with his sheep or sleeping while we ate and visited. I did not let him Frances' house as a courtesy to her since she does not have dogs and has a lot of breakable things down low.

I am reading a new Anne Perry, Thomas and Charlotte Pitt mystery, Treason At Lisson Grove. Bob had a dentist appointment at noon. I worked from 8 to 11, picked him up, brought him home, and back to work. Since I am buried in document production I worked late to make up some of my time.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

As I type this we were just under a tornado warning but has just expired. We are still under a watch until the 2am. Between being extremely busy at work and helping Bob with puppy duties at night I am about worn out. Colin continues to be a cute, wonderful puppy. The main problem is my normal evening rest/reading time before bed has gone to hell in a hand basket. We play in the early evening then he naps until 9 or so. We take him out between 9:30 and 10 then I bring him back to the bedroom with me. He gets cranked up back there wanting my undivided attention for the next hour.  It's usually 11 when we can get him out for last time and get him to settle for the night.

This morning he woke me up at 2. I took him out to potty but he did not want to settle when we came back in. It was around 3:30 by the time he finally went back to sleep. Oh well, it won't last all that long and well worth it.

We are watching a really neat British reality TV show called Rough Science.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

I finally got back on my evening Y schedule this week but middle of the week rains messed up my mowing cycle. I took a couple of hours of vacation and left work early this afternoon to come home and mow. On the way home I picked up some books on hold at the library, the pet store for some puppy food, and a quick stop for a couple of things at the grocery store.

My truck is still at Merchants; it should be done by tomorrow.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

I just finished up five hours of yard work. It is a beautiful day, low 70's and a nice breeze. My neighbor offered to go get me a load of free mulch the city gives away each year. He arrived in my driveway this morning around 8:45 just as I was getting ready to fix my breakfast and get dressed. He got back much quicker than I thought he would. I threw on my clothes, grabbed my pitch fork and ran out to help him off load it. It is pretty decent quality. I got about $100 dollars worth sitting there waiting to be spread.

After we off loaded the mulch I came back in to eat my breakfast than get started on my bush trimming project. First thing, Bob climbed up on the roof and used the blower to get all the maple seeds and sticks collected in the space along the peak of the roof over the porch.

I used the gas hedge trimmer to get everything cut back then started the cleaning up process. That took up the rest of the morning and afternoon after a lunch break. Once I had all the trimming picked up I used the blower on the driveway and the sidewalk in back that runs along the basement door and under the deck stairs to blow all those seeds off.

Time for a shower and rest time. I need to babysit Colin while Bob does some stuff in his lab.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

House cleaning chores this morning. With not being able to put down the throw rugs in the foyer to catch some of the stuff on our shoes, the floor were covered with maple seeds, dirt, grass, etc. Even wiping our feet on the outside run does not help much.

I went over to the folks house for lunch then we rode out to the plant store to get some potting plants for them and us. I noticed yesterday when I drove my truck home from Merchants some oil smoke at the light and when I pulled into the garage. We thought perhaps it was some residual oil left to burn off. When I got to the plant store smoke was billowing out from under the hood and oil was pooling under the car. I called Bob to have him call Merchants then I called Frances to see if she could come get the folks and take them home. Bob called me back to let me know Merchants said to check the oil level before I drove it over. DUH! It was already down a quart from yesterday. Since I carry oil anyway I added a quart to be safe the called Bob to let him know I was leaving the plant store for Merchants so he could meet me there.

Needless to say I was pissed with Merchants since they obviously did not get the seal or the oil line connected correctly the first time.
