I went to the hospital this morning to see how dad was doing and hopefully to talk with the doctors. Apparently he was doing so badly last night they did consider moving him to ICU. When I arrived this morning he did not look or sound all that good. But, while I was there he ate his breakfast and perked up a little. His resident came in around 9 to show me the new x-rays they took last night. There is a possibility that he has an obstruction or a tumor in the lung preventing the fluid from draining and creating his breathing problems. She outlined our options which are limited with dad being 90, having a weak heart, and limited kidney function. Surgery, chemo, and/or radiation is all out of the question.

A little while later the doctor and an attending came in. After much discussion it was decided they would try to start dad on oral medications tomorrow to get him ready to go home later in the week. Hopefully. No more tests, no more poking and prodding. Hopefully he will bounce back to his previous condition before this last episode. He said all he wanted to do today was sleep and rest. I left the hospital around 11:45 for work.

Even though I was late leaving work due to a late meeting I still went on to the Y to get in at least a 35 -40 minute or so workout. I try to be home no later than 6:30 to keep dinner, walking Colin, etc. from running too late into the evening.

I just spoke with dad on the phone. He sounded much better and said he felt better.
He needed a few things so I called Frances since I knew she was out and about to see if she minded running by the apartment and taking them over to him.
