[Last Week] [Saturday]
[Sunday] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday]
[Friday] [Next Week]
The Conference was very nice. We arrived in Athens at 2:30 and got
settled in our room. The Conference Center has everything right there, so
there is no need to go anywhere. I set my table up and talked to a few
people wondering around during the registration period.
We ate dinner in the restaurant, which has wonderful food, and then I
went back to my table. I mingled around the reception for about an hour
and then went up to the room.
Most of the Conference activity was Saturday. My table was set up in a
good location for conference goers to stop and look over my handouts. I
talked to a lot of nice people and got some good ideas from talking with
authors. It was a long day of sitting or standing at the table or
wandering around. I purchased a few books by the authors who attended the
conference or would be doing the book signing that evening.
The evening banquet was fun. Dr. John McCormick, a vet and professor at
University of GA spoke. One of the ways the conference raises money is to
have a silent auction. Various authors and local participants make up
theme baskets of books, tapes, and items to go to the highest bidder. I
was high bidder on one basket that I liked.
We left GA around 8 am and got home around one in the afternoon. Things
here seem to be in good order. The dogs were glad to see us and so was
Bill.
