[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

I'm back! We got in to Level Cross last night at 8:30. After dropping mom and dad off I made it home around 10 pm. The dogs and Bob all did their circle dance of celebration. We had a wonderful trip with great weather. I enjoyed the break from the daily grind but it is always nice to get back home.

Today will be spend unpacking and getting things somewhat back to normal. Bob did a wonderful job surviving on his own for the six days I was gone.

I will drop off my print film sometime today or tomorrow. Bob has downloaded my pictures from the digital camera. I did pretty good with it although I somehow put it in movie mode during one shooting segment. It takes really good pictures. I will be working on my travel page over the weekend.

The dogs and I have already been out this morning for a ball playing session. Lots of mail and other stuff to catch up on so I best get started.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Good afternoon. Things are gradually starting to fall back into place. I spent most of yesterday checking mail, catching up on a weeks worth of newspapers, and giving the dogs lots of attention. Late yesterday afternoon the grass finally dried off enough so that I could mow. While checking mail I needed to be available for hand shots for the PC Bob was building for his article. I did dog duty all day so Bob could work.

Earlier in the afternoon I had a bit of a scare. As I was walking the dogs back around the house from the back to the front I cut across the driveway near the back corner downspout. As I stepped forward I felt a sharp prick on the ball of my foot. Thankfully I was able to pull up my weight very fast and limp back around to the front walking on one foot and my heal.

When I got in the front door I let the dogs go and took off my shoe. I had stepped on a nail about an inch long attached to an inch square plate. Fortunately I wear thick soled running/aerobic shoes. The by the time the nail had penetrated all that rubber it was going slow enough that I felt the prick before it got too far into my foot. I had just gone that way earlier that morning in my slippers to take out the trash. Worse yet, one of the dogs could have stepped on it and really done some major damage to their paw.

Later that afternoon I went back down to the area and sure enough, there was some more nails lying there though not another one of those spikes. Mr. Tesh did a wonderful job of getting all the nails up from around the house after they finished the roof. What had happened was after all that rain we had last week it wash some of the stuff that had caught in the gutter and leaves. I walked around checking the remaining areas of the other three downspouts. All I found was a few staples at the other back one and nothing around the front ones.

Bob looked at my foot, agreeing with me that it did not seem to go in very far. We quickly put some of that quick drying hand cleaner on it and then some Neosporin cream with a band aid. It seems to be fine.

I did get the Jane Bee mystery read while on my trip. Last night I started another one of the bloodhound books though I did not get very far before having to turn out the light. One thing you do not get a lot of on these trips is sleep. We were up every morning by 6 or 6:30 and back at the hotel very late each night. You can't sleep on the coach or you will miss the scenery. If we are traveling through an area without much to look at I like to read.

Last night we watched a Poirot and another Inspector Lyndley.

This morning I did the 9am spin class. I dropped off three rolls of film before my class. Back from the gym, I tidied up the house, cleaned the bathrooms, and vacuumed. Bob got the laundry started but I finished up so he could work.

After lunch I ran out to pick up a new bolt for the toilet seat at Lowe's and run a couple of other errands. The dogs have had several chances of outdoor playtime. I had a few shots left on the 4th roll of film which I shot of the dogs out playing. I dropped it off on my way back from my errands. I will go pick up later this afternoon or tomorrow.
