Bob
spent the morning working on Chemistry stuff. I worked in my office
cleaning out old stuff from the file cabinet, etc. The weather turned
sunny and warm. Last night I finished the Susan Klein biography. Klein
is a professional storyteller. Some of the stories in the book I am
sure she tells during her performances. Several of the stories were
very funny, I imagine she very funny in person.
This morning I started the most recent Dana Cameron, Ashes and
Bones, which I picked up at Malice. This will complete another series.
Bob and I have been watching the House of Eliott and Cracker, a
very weird but good thriller. This is the British version of Cracker
starring Robbie Coltrane, a forensic psychologist. We tried to watch
the US version of this show and it stunk! Psychological thrillers are
not something we watch a lot of and I hardly ever read them but this is
a very well done show. Of course Harry Potter fans know Coltrane as the
character Hagrid.
If you celebrate the Christmas holiday, as I will be doing all day tomorrow, I hope you have an enjoyable day.

Merry Christmas. Have a wonderful day.

As usual, we had a great day yesterday.
Frances and Al were, as always, great hosts. We spent the early part of
the day exchanging gifts and snacking. Dinner included Cornish hens,
rice, rolls, and peas/carrots with lots of yummy desserts.
I had my post-op doctor appointment at 9 this morning with a PA. She
was very pleased with my progress for as much work as he did. Lateral
release, to help keep my knee cap from bending to the side was the
major part of the surgery along with fixing the tear. The PA did write
me permission to go back to work with no heavy lifting. I have an
appointment with the doctor in three weeks. Until then, no golf or yard
work. I am supposed to hear back from physical therapy tomorrow to see
if they will let me do it on my own.
Bob got a new monitor for his office. He moved his office monitor to
the den and I got the den one. Finally, a flat panel. I don't need a
new one nor a very wide one no more than I use my system. But, I
have noticed I can see better at work on the flat panel than here at
home on my old CRT. I have no idea how old that one was. It was Bob
before his got his first flat panel.
The dogs missed having me around the house all day. I was glad to get back to work.

Although there are very few people at work
this week I have enough to do to keep me busy. I do walking around
things for awhile then go back to my office and do sitting things. I
did walk across the street to the bank and to grab a salad for lunch in
the RJR building.
This afternoon I had a call from physical therapy. I have a Monday
morning appointment. Hopefully they will show me what I need to do and
turn me loose.
I went to they gym from work doing all upper body except for about five
minutes, very slow, on the treadmill. It felt good to get my heart rate
up and the blood pumping. The knee feels pretty good. I used the ice
cuff while I ate dinner tonight to make sure it does not swell up after
being up on it a lot the last three days.
Last night I finished the Dana Cameron. Very interesting book, she tied
up some loose ends from several earlier books/plots. I started the next
book in the Craig, Martha's Vineyard series at lunch today.

I started taking down the Christmas
decorations today. Work awhile, sit and rest awhile. The knee is doing
well. I can bend it past 90 degrees.
The tree ornaments are off and packed away. Now I am working on the
stuff that goes on the tables and the getting the village packed away.
We had a little over an inch of rain yesterday and last night. Today it is foggy as heck. Tonight more rain.
I am working on the January Friends of the Library newsletter. One of
the other board members was taking over this job since I have left the
board. But, her husband had a heart attach earlier in the week so I
stepped back in. Once I get typed up I will mail to another Board
member to print and mail. I need to get it done by tomorrow afternoon.

Rain, rain, and rain. We are getting some
more of the much needed wet stuff. It has been raining all day. We have
accumulated almost another inch bringing our total up to close to 4" in
the last few days. The yards are soggy which means a lot this will be
running off into lakes, streams, and reservoirs.
I finished packing up the Christmas stuff this morning. Afterwards I
took a break to finish up the newsletter and check web pages. Now, the
cleaning and vacuuming. What I don't finish today can wait until New
Year's Day and next weekend.
