The main roads this morning were fair to bad, the side roads awful. No
problems getting in. I had a 5:30 hair cut appointment but changed it
to 2pm. After I left there I went to my folks house. By this afternoon
the main roads were dry or wet from melting snow but the side streets
had not been cleared. Dad and I went by the Toyota body shop to get a
good look at the car and get a few things we left the other morning
during the quick transfer of stuff. The left side from the driver door
to the headlight is bashed in as is all the fender and the left side of
the hood.
We then went on to the grocery store. We have more
bad weather possible tonight and later on this week. Here are some
pictures from this past Saturday and Sunday.

The main roads were mostly clear this morning
with a cold rain falling. The side roads were still pretty bad. It has
rained pretty much all day with temperatures staying in the high 30's.
We did not get any significant ice/freezing rain/sleet/snow as
predicted.
I have been very, very busy since getting back to
work especially since I left early yesterday. The body shop called
today. Dad's car will be ready by Friday. It was mostly fenders and
sheet metal, no major damage. I have stopped playing "what if" and
beating myself up about what happened. I have been playing Monday
morning quarterbacking and 20/20 hindsight since Saturday. I do know,
had I been in one of the Troopers it most likely would not have
happened.

I used 4-wheel to get up the drive than put it back two. There were patches of black ice here and there.
Last
night I finished the Jance. Tonight I will start another Sister
Frevisse. I am taking short lunches to make up for leaving early on
Monday. I used my half hour to eat quickly and then took a quick
walk since it was so nice outside. On to the Y after work.
Starting
with the snail mail on Monday, I've had three solicitations from
lawyers and one chiropractor who got my name from the accident report.
I imagine dad has had that many or more. My mom even got one
since the cop put all three of us on the accident report for some
reason. Bunch of ambulance chasers.

Starting sometime in February 1960, I was
five years old, it snowed every Wednesday through March including 12
inches on March 9th. In the middle of all this snow my sister was born.
The reason I bring this up...snow/sleet/freezing rain/ are forecast
again for tomorrow. This make three or four Friday's in a row we've had
bad weather.
With the bad weather coming on Friday's those of
us who work M-F have not had to miss work unless they have kids. We
were just talking with our neighbor. They have an 8 year old son. Both
them have jobs that allow them to be flexible enough to share the
staying home duties. With more bad weather predicted for tomorrow he
was telling us this elaborate plan between them and another mother
nearby they are friends with to cover the day if the kids are out of
school again.
We have been watching more Pie In the Sky, George Gently, and New Tricks.

We had another couple of inches on the ground
when we got up this morning. Once I got out to the main roads things
were slushy. By the time I made to downtown it was just raining very
hard. We've had 3 1/2 inches of snow/rain since today. Mid day they
canceled the winter storm watch and put up flood warnings. With all the
rain and snow plus the saturated ground the water has no where to go.
Tonight the winds are supposed to be howling making it possible for
trees to come down.
There were very few people made it in this morning. A lot of our
employees live west and north of Winston. They got about 7 inches of
snow and then some ice and sleet on top of that. I had intended to
leave around 4 but one of the attorneys I help when our secretary
is out needed me to do some things. I got caught up on a lot of work in
between helping him. I finally took off about 4:30. There was very
little traffic on the roads even then.

Off and on snow showers today. The sun has
been out off and on with temperatures in the mid 30's. Lot's of melting
today but everything will refreeze tonight.
I've kept busy doing
little indoor projects for most of the day. I had Malcolm out earlier
to play. Once the snow all melts it will be a mucky, wet mess back
there even where I have grass. Perhaps this afternoon some reading and
watching golf.

I gave Bob a haircut this morning before
starting on the weekly house cleaning chores. I showered,
dressed, and walked Malcolm then went to the drugstore and over to my
folks house for lunch and a visit.
It is a beautiful day,
t-shirt weather for me, with temperatures in the 40's. I had Malcolm
out to play when I got back home. Looks like it will be awhile before
the Bilbrey's will be seeing the ground up there in Maryland. Gosh, what a lot of snow.
Time to read and relax, maybe watch a little golf.
