I am taking a vacation day today to run some errands and to use a day.
I left the house at 9:30, just got back around 2pm with some major
success. Part of errands was some shopping for the house with the money
mom gave me for my birthday. It's cold and windy. 33 degrees feels like
25 with the winds. Marcy and I are going out for dinner this evening.
Below are a couple of pictures from the Kentucky trip. This is the hotel where we stayed.
The baseball factory and museum was about four blocks up the street. A very neat place to visit.
One of the many pictures I took of the KaLightoscope Light Show being held in a big tent at the back of the hotel. Awesome displays.

It was pretty brutal walking up the hill this
morning with wind chills bringing the feels like to single digits. More
cold weather tonight and tomorrow but at least the wind is supposed to
die down.
Busy as usual at work taking up where I Ieft off last week. Today I finally finished two projects I started last Thursday.
I am reading a new Cynthia Riggs mystery, Touch-Me-Not. Riggs is one of
the Martha's Vineyard writers I enjoy reading. Her sleuth is a 92 year
old Vineyard native. Light reading but enjoyable.

I had my chiropractor appointment yesterday
morning at 7:30 then on to work. Last night I met Nancy and Betsy for
dinner at Salem Tavern for our annual Christmas get together. On the
way home I stopped at the library to pick up some reserve books and the
grocery store to grab milk and some of the Stoffer cassaroles they had
on sale.
Very cold again this morning but not nearly as windy. While we are
still very busy at work things are not quit as crazy as they have been.
I went to the Y after work.
While Bob washed up the dishes I took out the trash and recycling. Now
back to watching more Grey's Anatomy. We are jumping back and forth
between that and McLeod's Daughters.

Finally, a fairly warm day to get some yard
work done. I used the blower to remove the last of the leaves from the
natural areas, mowed and vacuumed the lawn for the last time this year
then hosed off the equipment. Cleaning up/out the basement is on my
to-do list for the end of the year. Other than picking up sticks that
come down from the wind/storms that 's it for the yard work until next
spring.
I've been working in my office cleaning off my desk while listening to
Christmas music. Knock on wood, my PC has been behaving itself lately.

It's a wet, chilly day but at least warm
enough to be rain. I cleaned the bathrooms and ran the vacuum through
the middle of the floor. Almost time for deep cleaning. The rest of the
day I've spent getting Christmas gifts wrapped so I can walk around in
my office. At least now you can see most of the floor. I cleared the
top of my desk, paid some bills, and balanced the checkbook. Yesterday
I finished the Christmas cards.
Even though we don't live in the north or midwest where they get
blizzard conditions I still take precautions against getting caught out
in bad weather with either car trouble or bad roads. This morning I put
my winter gear in the back of the truck with my AAA road hazard kit and
small roll up blanket I carry year round. I added a backpack with snow
boots, a hoodie, sweat pants, another blanket and gloves.
