I had intended to work until 1pm, pick up dad, and head to Thomasville to pick up mom from the hospital. I had talked to Frances around 10:15 when she went on break to fill me in on how dad was doing. He had slept late and decided not to go down for breakfast. I called him after I hung up talking with her to make sure he knew what time to meet me down front. A few minutes later he called to tell me he was trying to remove his bandage to let his wound air out and had done something to make his leg start bleeding pretty bad.
So, of I head over to see what was going on. Turns out he had nicked a place below the bandage with his finger nail. With dad’s legs so swollen it does not take much to make a small wound not only bleed but run down his leg with the fluid release. The wound itself was not bleeding. I put some antibacterial cream on the scratch and used one of the big gauze pads to cover it plus the stitched wound. We then stopped at OSO’s for lunch then headed down to get mom.
After I got them settled in the apartment I dropped off the prescriptions at the drugstore, got gas, picked those up and headed back. I then made mom a list of prescriptions showing when to take them and filled her pill boxes through Saturday. I waited for Frances, who was coming by on her way home, so I could tell her a couple of things then I left to come home.
