I just spent roughly three hours getting my rock/deck project started. I had to shovel the rock that used to be under the old deck up under the new deck. I then placed the landscape timbers between the post to keep the worst of the rock from washing. I had so much left over rock it actually filled the timbers to the top where before it only covered about a quarter to a half inch. And, that was after leaving a lot of the rock in place because it was too embedded in the dirt. I still need to rake out and level a bit more under the deck then cover the area with a load of mulch. There was already a bed of mulch between the old rock and the lawn but it needs replenished anyway. I put back down two landscape timber along the lawn/mulch area to hold it in place. I also got out the electric string trimmer and cut down the monkey grass in the back.
That’s pretty much it for the day except for kit work this afternoon. It’s a very nice day outside; warm and partly cloudy. It was good for me to get back out in the yard working again.
