I am reading the latest Louise Penny mystery, How The Light Gets In. Chief Inspector Gamache returns to the small Quebec town of Three Pines during the Christmas season to solve the disappearance of one the town’s friends gone missing after a recent visit and a promise of her return for Christmas. In the meantime Gamache’s best agents are either leaving the Surete de Quebec or being transferred. If you enjoy police procedurals you will like Penny. Her books are not light but instead have a somewhat sinister undertone. I enjoy her wide range of character from wacky to brilliant.
