Just as Bob and I sat down to eat lunch Frances called. While talking to her I was watching a squirrel build a nest in the fork of the silver maple by the deck. I have a direct line view of the tree from my end of the couch. He/she would scurry down the side of the tree with various sized branches, pack them down into the fork and take off for more. It took roughly 15 minutes for the next to become packed with the small leave covered limbs. Occasionally it would drop down into the nest and root around fixing things before hopping out and taking off again. I have seen squirrel nests up high in trees but never one down this low (roughly 15 or so feet from the ground).

I spent the morning ironing and working in my office. I filled one album with pictures I want to keep most of which came from the old albums that were falling apart. The others I put in some picture boxes Frances brought and shoe boxes; took down the card table and cleaned up that project for now. I just don’t have the time to work on it right now and was tired of that corner of my office cluttered up with the table stuff all over the place. That will be a good project for the winter months after the first of the year. However, I do need to add my new pictures from my recent trip to the album from 1999.

I then cleaned the bathrooms and did a quick run through the house with the vacuum. I balanced Bob’s Home Scientist checkbook but still need to work on ours and pay some bills.

It’s a cool, cloudy day. We’ve had a few light showers this morning.
