I am reading a new J.A. Jance mystery, Moving Target, in her Ali Reynolds series.
We were supposed to get something icy overnight and into this morning with temperatures warming up during the day. The roads were fine this morning but I drove the Trooper just in case the weather during the day went south. And, for awhile it did. As the day progressed the temperatures continued to hold at 30 degrees or drop into the high 20’s. By midday we had sleet and snow falling in Winston and the surrounding areas. The weather folks kept upping the cut off time for the bad weather from noon, to 4pm, to 7pm tonight. As usual, support staff started leaving any where from noon to 3. I stayed until 4:30 and the roads were fine once I left downtown and they were just slushy. The sidewalks were more hazardous to walk on then the streets were to drive. The roof’s and yards in our neighborhood were white in places and just frozen over in others.
