Last night Bonnie and I attended an Air Supply concert in Winston at the Reynolds Auditorium. Bonnie had bought tickets and wanted someone to go along. I must admit I was a bit skeptical of the quality of the music and performing abilities. Sometimes when these old “rock” stars are still trying to perform they have lost their singing range but still try to perform. Not so with Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock, the original Air Supply founding members, both in their mid-60’s. Although they are considered “soft rock” it was still the first “rock” concert I have attended in at least 20 years and maybe more. The back up band of lead and bass guitar, keyboard, and drums all were kids not even born when Air Supply started in 1975. Bottom line, they put on an awesome show, loud and rocking. Both can still sing and hit their high ranges. They interacted with the crowd and even at one point came down onto the main floor posing for photos with the crowd while singing one of their songs. I was amazed at the wide range of fans from young to old both male and female; all singing along to the words. They have quite a following. If they are in your area you might want to catch their show.
The usual house cleaning chores this morning as well as catching up about four weeks of ironing and doing a few other little things on my “to-do” list.
