Day four. It’s been one week since my surgery. Since I cannot write about working in the yard, going to work, or the Y I guess you are stuck with book updates and progress on my recovery. Sorry.
One thing I can do while laid up at home is to occupy the eight month old pest monster. Colin pesters Bob continuously to play while I am at work. Even though I cannot go outside with him right now I can spend my sitting time throwing the ball down the hall for him. I am pretty much self sufficient at this point especially with the cane freeing up one hand to carry things.
Four days of laying around in a bed and four days of mostly sitting on and/or sleeping on the couch has my lower back feeling like it’s been put in a torture device. Even getting up and walking around every hour has not prevented it from getting stiff. Putting pillows behind my back don’t really help since I am so sway back. I sit on a foam cushion to help with the backward slant of our This End Up Sofa.
I finally asked Bob if he would hot water in the other cryro pump for me to use on my back. We now have two since I got a new one from this surgery. It works pretty much like the old fashion hot water bottles. We gave up on buying heating pads after the last three or four stopped working after only short periods of time.
