It has been an interesting day for household/food chores. This morning we started adding the bread flower to the cleaned 2 liter coke bottles. Bob had filled some last year, I guess by himself, since I do not remember helping.
The flour, of course, is thick and does not want to go from the funnel into the bottle without a lot of shaking and stirring. It takes forever to fill one bottle of roughly 3 lbs of flour. By the time we had filled maybe six bottles we had flour all over the floor, counter, me, Bob, and the cabinets. After a break and still half a bag of flour left I suggested we put the remaining bag in gallon zip lock bags. Fortunately we worked on that project before I vacuumed. After lunch I cleaned the bathrooms and vacuumed.
The next project was the pansies in the pots in the pots I brought up from Winston. The day I brought them up it had rained buckets down there. I just quickly placed them in some empty pots and poured some of the dirt from the big existing pot around them. Up here, I set them along the edge of the porch. I had not noticed that even on warm days the porch is not getting any sunshine. The dirt, root ball and all, was frozen solid when I tried to removed them from the pots. I ran a bucket of warm water to dislodge most of the root ball, trimmed all the plants back and put them in new soil and pots. I have all the pots, including the two I had brought up earlier sitting in the garage. Hopefully they will thaw and come back to life. The big hanging pot I put on the deck gets enough sun that I think those will be okay.
Sunny and chilly today but really cold weather is coming in starting tomorrow.
