James, my lawn guy and neighbor down the street, showed up around 10am this morning with a pickup load of cut firewood. After Bob and I helped him unload the wood James pulled his truck down to the corner of the yard. He and I loaded the truck with a lot of rotten wood from the existing wood pile and a load of other junk left by the previous owners. He hauled that load off to the dump then returned for another load downed limbs and branches. At one point he went down to his house to get his chain saw because several were too large to move without being cut. All this mess was left by the previous owners and has been lying there for the ten years they owned the house.
It was about 12:45 when James left with the second load for the dump. While he was gone I fixed us a sandwich for lunch. When he came back for the last time he hauled took the old wheelbarrows and the boards he said he could use. Now all the big stuff has been hauled off I can start working on the area a little at a time. We need to burn the leaves and there is still some rotted wood to clear up around the wood pile. I also have more slate rock to dig out and haul up to the house.
The weather has been cloudy and cool with light drizzle off and on all day. A good day to work in the yard.
