House cleaning chores this morning after I gave Bob a haircut. We also mixed up a batch of homemade bread to cook for dinner tonight to go with grilled hamburger steaks.
Colin’s new training collar came yesterday. If it’s used as a shock collar it pretty much serves the same purpose as an electric fence to keep dogs in their yard. I’ve known some dogs who ignore the shock and keep going.
We started him out using the vibrate feature. I tried it on myself. It feels like a phone set on vibrate. Last night for his after dinner time out we gave it try. I gave him ample time to do his business and sniff around before I called him to come in the house. He is fascinated with the gas station across the street and will stand and look down there ignoring my calls. Or, he just sniffs around until he is ready to come in. After several “in the house” calls Bob hit the button for vibrate. He levitated sideways and came flying the house.
Bob had to use it this morning to keep him from heading down Macedonia from the lower corner of the yard or across the road at Grace’s house. On the second time he came flying back to the porch on the dead run. I hope the vibrate mode will teach him to come when he’s call and teach him not to leave the yard wandering off down Macedonia Road.
