Just as I was getting up, around 7:45 I heard a strange noise outside. I looked out on the deck to see little white sleet pellets. It sleeted for about 2 minutes before then turned to rain when I walked to the end of the drive to get the paper.
Several years ago we sold heirloom seed kits. We did not use all the bulk seeds I bagged up in the kits and Bob never did another batch to sell. Some I had been planting in the garden but there was hundreds of bagged seeds left in the bin sitting in the garage. I kept ones we plant but hauled the rest to an agricultural event that included a seed swap over in Jefferson at their community center. I was there about two hours and managed to give away most of the seeds. The remaining ones went to the lady representing the local library where the have a seed giveaway program.
Al thinks they salt the roads heavy in Sparta. He should see Ashe county. It rained a little on the way over but the sun was out by the time I headed back home. The car was covered even worse in salt and road grime than when I left here. It’s still terribly windy though warm so I pulled out the hose and gave the car a quick rinse since they are calling for more rain tomorrow and Monday.
