In the last two weeks I have recorded about 12 inches of rain as of last night. The forecast has 40% chance tonight and down to 20% tomorrow. We really need sunshine and dry weather for about a week. James usually mows on Thursdays. I know is behind with all the wet weather. If he does not show up this evening he will most likely be here sometime tomorrow.
I worked a shift at the Wellness Center today from 9:30 to 4pm. Colin has had three days in a row of home alone and spent all day Monday back here on the computer. I need to give him some extra attention tonight to make up for it.
Thunderbird and Webmail is still not working on my PC. Dreamhost website has not updated all is fixed yet for today. When my Thunderbird and webmail were working on my PC, my Fire mail was not working. I had not changed anything on it after we fixed it here. Now, my Fire mail is working. Same for Bob’s e-mail His desktop system is not working but I can get his mail on his Fire.
Nick, I will leave it for another day before I request help from Dreamhost since they have not posted an all clear.
Ok, well at least you have some mail. That is an improvement.
I’ve just checked and they still haven’t given the ‘all clear.’
The fact that some devices work but the others don’t suggests there might be a local component to the problem as well as their end.
Normal advice at this point would be to reboot and re-login to the devices that don’t work and see if that helps (while NOT doing so on the devices that DO work, just in case).
It’s possible there is an old setting still sticking around.
I hope you are back to normal soon. It’s amazing how much it’s become a part of our lives. Even my 85 yo dad gets antsy when he can’t check his email or chat with his cronies.

Nick, I tried rebooting my laptop. Still not working. I put in a call back request again, to Dreamhost. If I have not heard back from them by this afternoon I will post here to ask you to put in a callback request for me for this evening.

Hi Barbara, their current status is showing as “all systems operational”, but I don’t know when it switched to green.
Give it another try now, and if that still doesn’t work, we’ll go from there.

Re-booting the router works sometimes for me. Although once in a while a switch/hub flakes out.
With all the rain, you may have a bit of corrosion on an Ethernet connection.
