It’s been a long but rewarding. I drove over to Boone, NC, about an hour and half away this morning to the Modern Subaru dealership. The only Subaru dealership close by is in Winston but it is owned by a guy that I would not buy a car from.
I had planned to drive over and just look around to see what 2018’s they still had on the lot. It’s not a big dealership and they only had one of the model I wanted on the lot. After I test drove it I fell in love with the feel of the car as compared to my HHR. Since I’ve sold the Trooper I do not have a reliable bad weather car. The HHR is okay on dry pavement but on wet pavement it drives worse and snow it is horrible. Plus it’s front wheel drive, which was my first and last of those I will ever buy. And, it was raining when I test drove the car so I was able to really see how it handled on mountain roads in the rain.
About half the population of Sparta drives some model of Subaru. So, I decided to go with my gut and do the deal. However, I did not go armed with title to the car nor my checkbook. So, I drove back home, let the dog out, grabbed a quick snack and what I needed and headed back to Boone.
As the owner of a 2017 and 2018 Subaru Foresters, I can attest to their quality, driveability, and all-weather handling. Enjoy.
