Colin and I were greeted this morning to a dusting of snow on the ground and some light snow falling. Winds are blowing 20 to 25 mph with gusts over 40. The sun finally came out later in the morning.

Odds and end indoor chores today including laundry and changing and washing the bed linens.

The 20″ snowfall plus what was cleared off the driveway crushed my aster plant in the bed by the corner of the garage. It had died off for the winter anyway but I had not cut it back. The little rose bush next to it was mostly spared; just a few broken branches. I cut back the aster to the ground and tidied up the little rose bush. The wind has blown down more of the broken off pine limbs so I picked those up and added them to the pile.

I have not heard official totals as yet but we are very close to having a record amount of rainfall for the year. I’ve had well over 60″ with more to come before the end of the year.

That’s nuts! We had high 70s and clear blue sky. I spent as much time outside today as I could. Really nice.

Our fall seemed exceptionally wet too. I guess we’ll be getting some dry to balance it out. Time to get a rainwater capture system set up for the garden 🙂

I hope we don’t go from a wet year to a drought year for 2019.
