Bob posted a couple of pictures from my Blowing Rock/Chimney Rock trip. I did not take any pictures in Blowing Rock though I should have taken some of the beautiful flowers but I left the camera at the Inn when we went walking around town.

Below is a picture of our room at Fibber McGee’s in Chimeny Rock. If you decide to visit this little town I highly recommend this place. We had the only room that has two queen beds. I am standing in a little sitting area where there is a sofa and the television.

This is the Rocky Broad River that runs parallel to the entire town. Our room did not overlook the river but we sat on the back porch both nights which did. We also at lunch at one of the restaurants that overlooks the river and took a walk on the trail that runs behind the shops and restaurants along the river bank. The bridge in the distance goes up to the actual Chimney Rock.

The flag atop the  left hand rock formation is the top of Chimney Rock. You have to drive up to a parking/observation area then take an elevator to the very top or hike up. We did not go up but instead we drove over to Black Mountain for the afternoon after we walked around the town that morning. Marcy and I have decided we will go back again next year and go up to the top.
