We had some light rain over night. It was foggy with drizzle when I left for Winston this morning. Highs today in the upper 40’s and thankfully, calm winds.

I had my follow up echo at Baptist Hospital at 11. Only took about about 45 minutes. Guess I will hear back sometime this week how things are going.

I came home, fixed some lunch, then went over to Donna’s for afternoon crafting.

Did they tell you what your heart ejection fraction is now ? Mine was 53% a year ago. It was 43% after my first heart attack in 2009. I do not remember what my fraction was after my second heart attack in 2013. I am happy that my heart has recovered since then, probably because of the heart double ablation I had in 2018 to stop my atrial fibrillation with tachycardia.

My wife’s heart ejection fraction is up at 63%. She had advanced breast cancer back in 2005 and took an experimental drug called Herceptin after her mastectomy. The drug temporarily reduced her heart function for a while but I do not remember what it dropped to.

BTW, the study for the Herceptin drug said that my wife’s chances of the breast cancer coming back (she has both of the bad genes) dropped from 65% to 25% back then. Her chances of reoccurrence are rising now but not much. She was 47 when she got the breast cancer, she is now 66. The women in her family used to start dying in their late 40s from breast cancer so that is a big deal.

Have not talked with the dr. yet but from the report I read in my chart my EF looks to be up from 30% when I had my heart attack to 60%. I plan to call him next week and confirm what I read. So glad your wife has been cancer free and you are doing well with your heart issues.

    60% is awesome !
