Calm before the next storm. Today dawned sunny and warm with highs expected to be in the low 50’s. It rained hard over night and with the warm temperatures not a trace of ice to be seen. I only have a couple of big branches down in the back that I will get to at some point.
More nasty/bad weather is expected to move in for the weekend.
I went to the gym and the grocery store to be pick the usual weekly supplies. Household ods and ends this afternoon.
Bob’s website is down. I tried to pay the GoDaddy registration but it would not let me.
Me too, something is going on, first need to talk to dreamhost.
IDK why the godaddy page comes up when we are hosted on dreamhost, and the payment and renewal should happen automatically.

Well its the domain registration not the hosting. GoDaddy has become worse lately.
Sorry Barbara for bringing the issue to your site but RH seems occupied lately.

Hi Barbara, apologies for intruding on your site, just wanted to post in update from Nick regarding the outage on Bob’s site…

It looks like the site name registrar was godaddy. The name registration expired. IDK if Barbara was unaware of the account or if Rick was handling it, but didn’t address the expire notices because of his other priorities.
It looks like godaddy is holding the name, and it’s not really for sale or grabbed by someone.
There is a process for recovering the Godaddy account, even if Barbara doesn’t have access or the old registration email account, it’s just cumbersome.
I’ve sent email to Barbara, but she hasn’t responded yet.
The site will likely be down for several days until she gets access to the name -registration and re-ups.
Please pass along to any of the others you have contact with.
If it starts pouring down rain here, and I’m confined to the house, I might be able to get my backup site updated. I’m on my lappy, and don’t have all my saved logins…
Barbara’s site is still up and a good place to check for info.
