We only had a couple of inches of snow by last night. Over night and into this morning we had some freezing rain on top to makes things rather hazardous around the county. It has warmed up into the mid 30’s but temperatures will drop this afternoon and those lovely 40 mph wind gusts will show back up.
I had all the decorations packed and put away but late Saturday afternoon. Yesterday I started on the deep clean of the rooms that I always do after Christmas in my bathroom and the bedroom. This morning I did the den and this afternoon will do the dinning room/foyer.
Yesterday afternoon I drug the Christmas tree down to the woods for the birds and animals.
We had maybe an inch or less of snow last night before the squall blew on through. However, today is nasty with lows in the teens last night and highs today in the low to mid 20’s. Winds are still gusting to 50 mph blowing snow all over the place.
Roads in parts of the county are iffy and with the winds we decided not to open the store today.
So, I will spend the day taking down the Christmas decorations since I am “weathered” in.
An early night. I usually meet friends after the bookstore closes on Friday nights so don’t normally do a post.
However, we had blowing snow and sunshine all day but as usual nothing was sticking. Forecast had been for cold and windy but no precipitation. Around 3:15 the snow started coming down heavy and continued to get worse to white out conditions.
We closed the store at 3:30 and I headed for home. We are predicted to get 1 to 3 inches with winds 50 mph plus.
It was slow at the store but we worked on the big donation that came in last week.

Sunny and warm today with highs in the low 40’s after the fog burned off around 10 am.
Frances and Al arrived yesterday afternoon. She fixed vegetable soup after lunch to simmer until dinner last night.
This morning we opened gifts. Donna is coming over this afternoon to spend the day with us. Frances is fixing shrimp and sausage vegetable stir fry. We have cheese ball and nibbles out for this afternoon.
Partly cloudy, cold, and windy with highs in the low 30’s early. We had off and on snow showers most of the morning but nothing sticking. Temperature was down into the upper 20′ s by this afternoon.
We had a good day at the store. A lull in the middle of the day otherwise a fairly steady stream of customers. Almost made $200 despite the cold weather. No donations to process.
After work I went to Wendy’s house for dinner. She is one of our store volunteers. Had a nice visit and meal with her and her husband.
