[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

I have a review of the book I am currently reading posted on my favorites page, Wolves Against the Moon by Julia Cooley Altrocchi.

Yesterday

It was a rainy, dreary day but very warm. I spent most of the afternoon reading my book. They tried several times to run the race but intermittent showers finally forced them to cancel until Monday morning. Bob napped all afternoon and I eventually went to my office to read web pages before starting dinner. With nothing on television for the evening I worked for awhile and then spent the remainder of the evening reading.

Today

I have a haircut appointment at 9:00. I will run a few errands while out but will most likely try to get home by 11:00 to watch the race. I have bills to pay and more work to do on the review, so I guess my day is pretty much planned.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Yesterday

I returned home from my haircut and errands around 10:30. When I turned on television to get ready to watch the race the picture was again all black with the white line going through the middle. So, Bob and I played TV switch. First we moved our bedroom TV from the dresser to the bed. This is actually Lenore's old one from downstairs. Then we moved the TV from the den to the bedroom until Bob decides what to do about it. We moved our set from Lenore's room out to the den and gave Lenore back her set from downstairs. Now we have a slightly smaller but functioning TV in the den and Lenore's is sufficient for her tiny room.

I watched the race while eating lunch. It was a good race, a lot of top ten passing back and forth and a last lap effort by Bobby Labonte to pass Steve Park for the win that failed. After the race I went off to the office to work all afternoon. Lenore's hair dresser showed up around 3:00 and finished up just in time for me to be able to get into the kitchen to put the meat loaf together to go in the oven for dinner. I worked most of last night until time to take the dogs for their last time and then off to bed to read for a bit.

Today

I am working this morning until around 10:00. Then I am taking Malcolm over to the park to meet a friend that I did rescue work with. She has a BC a little older than Malcolm. This will be Malcolm's first chance by himself to romp around and play ball and Frisbee with another BC. This afternoon more work on finishing up the first draft of the review.

Tonight I going to dinner with my parents and sister. We are celebrating my mom's birthday, which is really tomorrow but Frances works on Wednesday nights so we are doing it tonight. After dinner at the restaurant, we are going back to Frances's for cake and presents.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Happy birthday to my mom!!!

Just in case you don't read Bob's page we finally got the contracts for the second edition of the Nutshell book. We have a rather short deadline for completion so the Thompson household is once again being held hostage to crunch time

Yesterday

Malcolm had a great time at the park yesterday playing with Nancy's dog Finn. We stayed about an hour and tossed balls and Frisbees with Finn catching the toys and Malcolm working Finn as if he were a sheep. Nancy' has a 10 month old daughter that Malcolm managed to give several face slurps while she was sitting on the ground with her mom.

I worked all afternoon until time to get a shower and dressed for dinner. I met my parents and sister at a new restaurant, Cities. Very nicely done inside with rock walls. The serve the typical American fare of steaks, pasta, burgers, seafood, and chicken. Mom and Dad ate the crab meat with pork tenderloin and asparagus. Frances and I had the pasta with sautéed vegetables, salad, and rolls. I should have skipped the salad because I could not quit finish the big bowl of pasta and the bread too. We shared a bottle of White Zinfandel. The food is very good.

We then went back to Frances's house which is nearby to do the cake and ice cream bit. Mom got books from me and a nice carry basket from Frances that you can stack two pies, or cakes, or whatever on top of each other. Dad gave mom her birthday and a 55th anniversary present which is March 9, a real nice emerald necklace. We ate cake and ice cream and sat around and talked. I got home around 9:00.

Today

I am off to the gym this morning and then drugstore, library, and grocery stop. Work this afternoon.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

I have a new WebCitings page up with some pretty cool history sites this month.

Yesterday

I did work some after lunch. But since it was a nice, warm day I decided to go out and clean the yard up. I mowed the back and got up some leaves and stuff that had blown from the neighbor's yard and a some high spots of grass. The from is still pretty much a lot of straw. I mowed the high areas and picked up sticks and added some straw to the area where we had the sewer work done. After dinner I worked on some web site stuff until time to watch West Wing.

Today

I am playing golf this morning with my dad and Bob and I are going out for dinner and to the library late this afternoon.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Yesterday

We had a nice morning for golf with mostly sunny skies and fairly warm although it got a bit windy at times. We stopped at a little diner type restaurant for lunch and then I dropped dad back off at home. It was close to 2:00 by the time I got back here. I played with the dogs and then caught up on mail and web pages, took a shower, and did some things around the house. About three time a week I like to pick up clutter  and do a little house straightening to make the once a week cleaning easier.

Bob and I went out for dinner. Last night I worked some and then read until time for ER.

Today

Errands this morning. I have several stops to make including the gym. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Yesterday

It was another day of warm temperatures for this time of the year. I gave the dogs some outdoor playtime in the front yard after I got home from the gym and my errands. Not much else going on other than work projects. Our local public broadcasting station is "begging" fundraising this month. I taped a show Thursday night about British comedy on American television. We had actually seen it before but we watched it because it had some good segments from some of our favorite shows.

Today

The forecast is for rain and more rain. I am off to the gym for spinning class this morning. Not sure what I will do the remainder of the day.

[Last Week] [Monday] [Tuesday] [Wednesday] [Thursday] [Friday] [Saturday] [Sunday] [Next Week]

Yesterday

It rained or drizzled pretty much all day. I spent most of the day doing Callahan genealogy work, looking up stuff on the Internet and taking notes for my next library visit. I watched the last half of the Busch race from Las Vegas and the golf match from Florida before starting dinner. After dinner I spent the evening finishing Wolves Against the Moon. We walked the dogs around 9:30 for their last time out. I grabbed a new book to start in bed, a biography of Judi Dench. I will post a review next week but so far it is pretty interesting.

Today

House cleaning this morning. The Winston Cup race does not start until 2pm since it is also from Vegas. It was forecast for us to get a snow storm tonight and tomorrow but they have now changed it to just rain with maybe snow showers. Oh well!
