I have a few pictures up on my Christmas
page. There will be more tomorrow after I pick up a roll of film from
the 35mm. I took these with the digital and Bob very kindly transferred
them for me while I was visiting Lenore last night and had them all ready
for me to drop on my page when I got home. This afternoon or tonight I
will have Bob scan some from the prints and add those.
We got the Sunday chores done including shoveling a path for me to get
up the drive this morning. Bob napped in the afternoon while I worked on
Christmas cards. I had taped a Rod Stewart concert from Friday night and
watched it until dinner time. We spent the evening reading.
I am happily off to work at my regular time today with plans to work
until 1 o'clock. When I get off work I need to stop at If Its Paper,
Wal-Mart, and the grocery store on the way home.
As far as Christmas shopping goes, I am almost finished. I did Frances
and Al's from Lands' End. Frances is going to pick up a couple of things
for mom and dad that we going to go in on together. Other than one or two
small things for Frances and something else for my dad I am finished.
I hope your week gets off to a good start. Thanks for stopping by.

I picked up the pictures yesterday afternoon from the
drugstore but did not have time to scan them. By the time I got home from
running errands, got the groceries put away, and changed cloths it was
well after 3:00. I had to play ball with the dogs, check my e-mail, run a
load of my exercise shorts in the wash, and do a couple of things before
it was time to start dinner.
After Body Pump class was over, which is around 7:15 I did the Lenore
visit and stopped to get gas on the way home.
I plan on working until 1 o'clock again today. When I get off from work
I am meeting my dad at Sport's Authority. He has been wanting a new 3 wood
which they have on sale. While I am on that side of town I need to run one
other errand at the book store then stop to visit Lenore on the way
home.
Tonight I am having dinner with my friends Nancy and Betsy for our
annual Christmas dinner out.
Well its already 9:15 and we still need to walk the dogs so I can get
to bed and read a couple of chapters before turning out the light.
Looks like we dodged another storm from mother nature. It is supposed
to be just warm enough tomorrow to bring rain and not snow/sleet/ice. I am
not ready for another winter event just yet.

We had a wonderful dinner out last night at Paul's Fine
Dinning. Betsy and I ate the veal medallions in wine sauce. I had
spaghetti with marinara sauce on the side and Betsy got the sautéed
spinach. Nancy ordered the grilled salmon with the spinach.
Not much else on the news front. I will most likely work until either 1
or 2 o'clock today. I need to check on one thing Frances is looking for at
one of the specialty stores on this side of town to save her trip.
As usual it is getting late and we still have to take the dogs out.
Look's like some rain may be moving in so I best get going.

I added a few new pictures to both the Christmas
and snow dogs pages if you are
interested. That will be the last updates to those pages until after
Christmas for that page or until it snows again for dogs.
Things are just busy and boring around the Thompson Techno Ghetto right
now. I worked on various things today after I got home including clearing
off my desk, filing, and some computer stuff. After dinner I did the
Lenore visit first stopping by the library to pick up some reserves and a
new supply of books for Bob.
I finished up the Nasty Breaks golf mystery by Charlotte and
Aaron Elkins on Tuesday night. One of the reserves that came in was a
historical novel written by a local author about the early settlement of
Old Salem. Peggy Reid Rhodes is a former English teacher who, while
working as a guide for Old Salem, learned about Martha Miksch. The Miksch
family was one of the early settlers of the town. Rosemary for
Remembrance tells the story of her life in Old Salem from the
Revolutionary War to 1817.
Otherwise nothing really new and exciting to talk about. I have a few
more Christmas cards to get mailed. This weekend I will start wrapping
stuff.
Work is going very well. I love this project I am working on. As each
day goes by I am getting a little more comfortable with what I am doing.

Happy Friday to everyone. If you live on the east coast you
may still be getting hammered by Mother Nature. It is supposed to rain
here all day today but the temperatures are to be above freezing. As you
know our friends Marcia
and Brian
just moved to Maryland from the sunny and mild left coast. Unfortunately,
they picked a year in which the east coast is due for a bad winter. It is
usually very mild this time of year with very little or no snow, at least
until after the first of the year. BUT, every four or five years we get a
bad winter and I have been predicting this would be our year. Having lived
here all my life I am as used to ice storms as I am snow. Tonight I
saw pictures of Scranton, PA on the weather channel. Looks like they got
hit pretty bad.
Yesterday we had our Christmas Friends of the Library meeting. It was
actually a pretty low key affair with everyone bringing something to share
while we conducted our usual business meeting.
This afternoon when I get off from work I need to run out to Wal-Mart
and then I want to stop at SciWorks for an hour or so. I don't want to
completely abandon my volunteer work with them right in the middle of my
library project. I thought I would work a couple of hours and then stop to
visit Lenore on the way home.
Have a good weekend and thanks for stopping by.

I have a rather ambitious list of things to get done this
weekend. This morning I am off to the gym for cardio class followed by the
morning Lenore visit. This afternoon I need to give Bob a haircut and
brush the dogs.
I also need to wrap Christmas presents, clean house, clean up my desk,
iron...the list goes on and on.
Our short term drought situation is finally over. Although the water
tables are still low things are slowing getting back to normal. As I
understand it El Nino is back again which will bring us a wet, cold,
snowy, icy, sleety, winter. So it is good news/bad news!
We had a cold, misty rain all day yesterday but fortunately avoided an
ice storm by just a few degrees. I was glad I did the Lenore visit on the
way home so I would not have to go back out last night. We spent the
evening reading and listening to classical music.
Not much else on the home front that is news worthy.

I am off playing golf this morning for the first time in
several weeks. While I know it will be sloppy and muddy at least we can
get out and hit the ball around for practice. Dad called our regular
course yesterday afternoon to see if they will be open due to the wet. All
the snow has melted off. They said to call them first thing in the
morning. If they are not open then we will play the little executive
course we play sometimes.
Well, I did get the house cleaned yesterday afternoon and you can now
actually see the top of my desk. I did not start my Christmas wrapping but
did get the card table set up and the boxes down from the attic. That will
be this afternoon's project. But when I first get home from playing golf I
need to work on the back Trooper doors. The latch rattles when you go over
bumps and the rear window washer sprayer is not working. I also need to
iron a couple of pairs of pants before I start on the wrapping.
