We had a little less than 1/2 inch of rain last night and this morning. It was cloudy and dreary all day until about sunset. 

Today at lunch I starting reading an Aaron Elkins, Gideon Oliver mystery, Uneasy Relations. This is the most recent book out in the series but he has a new one coming out later this year. We had to buy the last two published because the library did not have them. With book budgets getting tighter I have found a few of my favorite authors I used to be able to get from the library are not being purchased. In the last few months I have read on the DorothyL mystery list of authors or long running series being dropped by their publishers. Fortunately some get picked up by another publishing house but some of the, what I call, mid list authors are sunk.

Tomorrow morning I will be driving myself and the folks down to Figure Eight Island located just outside of Wilmington, NC. We went down last year in June. I am looking forward to some rest and relaxation. It has been a very hectic last few months including today. I was late getting away due to some last minute projects I needed to get completed. By the time I made a stop for gas, picked up books at the library and made a grocery store run it was well after 6 when I got home. After a quick dinner I took out the trash. Bob helped pull the green yard cart to the curb then we walked Malcolm.

I still have to pack and get the recycling ready to go out tomorrow morning.

Last night we watch four new episodes of Bones and have more to watch tonight.
