Rainy days and Mondays...though we only had about half an inch while the warm weather continues.
It
was another very hectic day at work but managed to get a handle on a
lot of work that got behind from last week's major project. Due to my
increase in work load and the ever expanding support I am providing to
the group I got an upgraded printer today.
Off to the Y
after work where I managed to work out all the stress and tension while
listening to Mark Knopfler's All the Roadrunning he recorded with Emily
Lou Harris.

Things continue to be hectic, busy,
stressful, etc. at work. We have have very busy spells in the past but
nothing like it is right now. I love the challenges.
It was
raining when I left for work. An hour later the snow was flying. It
snowed all day with no accumulation downtown or here at home. It had
turned back to rain by the time I left work. On to the Y from there.
Some of our surrounding areas may have had an inch or so on the grass.
I
am reading the latest William Tapply, a Stoney Calhoun mystery, Dark
Tiger. The tiger in this case being a type of fly used in fly fishing
as I learned in the first or second chapter of the book. Tapply passed
away last July. According to the last letter he posted on his web site
he had another Brady Coyne turned in to his publisher but I have not
seen anything about it being published. He was also working on a stand
alone mystery/suspense thriller.

We are back to cold and windy weather but
lots of sunshine. Errands on the way home: vet to pick up heart worm
pills for Malcolm, drop books off at the library, and grab a few things
at the grocery store. Bob fixed a chicken, noodle, and broccoli
casserole for dinner with enough left over for another meal.
The
trash is out and the recycling is on the curb. Time to relax, read, and
watch a little of the Olympics. Tomorrow is the last night.

I picked the folks up after work to bring
them out to the Mexican restaurant on our side of town. We were meeting
Frances and some of the people that mom and dad work/volunteer with at
the hospital. They have a group of ten to twelve people that like to
get together for dinner once in awhile at different places around town.
Last night they also celebrated mom's birthday.
Another
sunny but cold and windy day. Malcolm and I picked up more sticks,
swept up some of the leaves and sticks from the curb left when the city
picks up branches, and did some other assorted odd jobs in the yard
just to be outside getting some fresh air.
I have cleared and filed away a pile of stuff that was on my desk and
paid the bills. I am reading another Sister Frevisse mystery, The
Traitor's Tale.
Not sure why I said on Thursday that Friday
was the last night of the Olympics. I know they always ran through
Sunday with the gold medal hockey game on Sunday afternoon. I can
remember I was watching that historic hockey match thirty years ago
when USA beat Russia for the gold. 1980, single, living in my little
one room apartment with a little over a year's experience working for
the library system.

Happy Birthday to my mom. She is 82 today.
The
weekly house cleaning chores are done. I caught up the ironing in my
basket and had Malcolm out back to play some ball. It is another cool
and windy day out with some clouds and sun.
Reading and relaxing this afternoon in preparation for another busy week at work.
