I
was so nice yesterday afternoon about 1:00 I decided to go to the
driving range and hit a bucket of balls. There is really nice one not
too far from the house that I gone past but had never used. It felt
good to swing a club again. By the time I got home and showered it was
time for Marcy to pick me up to go to dinner. We ended up at
Carrabba's, a nice Italian restaurant. Being more of a restaurant than
a bar it was not full of Super Bowl fans allowing for a nice quiet
dinner.
I got home early enough for us to try a new program Bob downloaded for the ROKU, Da Vinci's Inquest. Set in Vancouver, it's more of a nitty gritty type cop show. We've watched the first three episodes. It's pretty good.

I am in the middle of another big document
production project. Hopefully I will finish up tomorrow. I went to the
Y tonight instead of last night. Some weeks I go Monday/Wednesday,
others, Tuesday/Thursday. It all depends on my evening schedule.
We still have not heard anything from American Express concerning our
complaint against AAMCO. I did hear back from the BBB. They tried twice
to contac them without success so they closed the case. The file will
indicate the matter was not resolved due to the business not responding
to the complaint.

I picked the folks up after work to take them
to meet some friends for dinner. It's a group of either volunteers
and/or employees my folks work with at the hospital. The plan was for
me to pick them up, then swing by and pick up Al and meet Frances and
the group at Vincenzo's. It's about two miles from our house. Then
after dinner Frances and Al would take mom and dad home. Since they
always meet for dinner Frances or I have take them so the group knows
us too.
Yesterday Frances came down with a nasty strain of flu. Fortunately, Al
was in town, because by the time she got to the doctor she was so sick
they would not let her drive home. Of course, had he not been home, I
would have gone and got her. So, we picked up Al and took him to get
her car then he followed us out to the restaurant.
It was after 8:30 by the time I got home. Duke and North Carolina were
playing basketball at 9 so I stayed up to read and watch the game.
We had a light dusting of snow over night. Just enough to make schools go two hour late. Y after work.

Busy Friday. I left home at my usual 8am to
pick up mom and dad. I dropped them off at the hospital for their
volunteer work then on to work for me. I spent pretty much all day
doing document production other than taking breaks to look for files,
etc. At three I left work to go back to pick up the folks. I dropped
mom off at the beauty shop and dad off at their house then on to my
chiropractor appointment. After I finished up there I drove back to
pick up dad at the house then mom at the beauty shop. From there we
went to Cloverdale Kitchen for dinner and Harris Teeter right next door
so they could pick up their grocery supplies.
I talked with Frances a couple of times. She is feeling a little better
though she still has a horrid cough. Time to relax and watch some more
McLeod's Daughters.

Off this morning to Wal-Mart and the pet
store.. I had more non-food items to get then food, the usual case when
I do a combined trip. While Bob took the shopping upstairs I flatten
cardboard then took off to drop it at the recycling bins and stopped at
the library to drop off and pick up books.
It's a beautiful day. Sunny, mid-50's but breezy with gusts to 14. I
Ieft the white truck out to wash and intended to pull the blue one out
so I could sweep out that part of the garage where it's been sitting.
Of course the battery was dead. Bob has it hooked up the charger now.
I had Malcolm out back to play some rope and ball. Golf and reading
this afternoon. I am reading At Home On Ladybug Farm by Donna Ball, the
second book in her series about three women who purchase an old rundown
mansion in a small town in Virginia. It's not a mystery series, just
nice relaxing reading.

House cleaning chores this morning followed by a bath for Malcolm. It's another pretty day, sunny and warm but windy.
I cranked up the blue car and drove it over to pick up a prescription
from the drugstore and fill the tank with gas. The check trans light
was on the entire drive from home to the gas station. I went through
the drive through at the drugstore. When I got to the gas station the
car lurched a couple times then the check trans light went out. It
drove normal from the gas station back into the neighborhood, perhaps a
mile or so, when it sipped again back into the check trans mode.
We got the report back from Amercan Express yesterday. They are not
reimbursing us on our claim from AAMCO. Not sure what the next step
will be until I talk with the attorney at work who has been helping us.
