Happy
Birthday to my mom today. We met for dinner this evening at Big Shots.
Nasty weather this afternoon and evening. Tornado warnings all around
us this afternoon but most of the severe weather stayed north of us.
Fortunately it was only a light steady rain when I left the building
for the parking deck. By the time I got to the restaurant it was coming
down pretty hard and was still pouring when we left and all the way
home.
The cold front should be through here in the next hour or so taking the nasty weather with it.

Some of the surrounding areas had some damage
from the storms that came through yesterday and last night. We had
about an inch of rain to add to the inch we had a couple of days ago.
Scott's came today and put out weed prevention and fertilizer.
Hopefully it will rain again in the next 10 to 14 days and wash it in.
I was a very hectic day at work. Despite the fact I was about drained
of energy I went to the Y anyway. As usual I was feeling better about
10 minutes in my workout.
We watched the first season of In Plain Sight
Sunday and last night. Sunday afternoon while I was doing tube labels
Bob fired up the Roku box to try a couple of shows he downloaded to see
if we liked them. The first two were bombs but this one we really like.
I think we are still in season one. Good writing and likeable
characters. A little different from the other stuff we watch.

Dinner out last night with Nancy and Betsy. I
went to the Y tonight since I had only been able to make it one night
this week on Tuesday. It's been a long and busy week.
I am reading another mystery by Maggie Bishop from Boone, NC, Murder at Blue Falls from my TBR shelf.
We are still having fairly warm weather for March after a rather warm
February. Light jacket in the morning and shirt sleeves in the
afternoon. I am not complaining since I hate to wear a coat. Hopefully
the heavy coat weather is finished. Scott's came earlier this week to
put down pre-emergent weed killer and fertilizer. Hopefully we'll get
some rain this weekend to wash it in.

This morning while Bob started the laundry I
cleaned the bathrooms and ran the vacuum. I then took off to run a
couple of errands including going by Lowe's Home Improvement to pick up
a few things. They had some very nice small planters with pansy's so I
picked up one of those for mom for a belated birthday present.
They had some "grounds maintenance" chores that needed taken care of.
There were some of those plastic flower pots that had cracked and
discolored that needed the dirt dumped and the pots tossed out. I
pulled down some old, rusted hanging pots and did the same with those.
They have a few of the flower pots still in good condition. I dumped
all the old dirt and stored those in his shed until spring. We can
plant some annuals in those. I pulled up the dead follage from mom's
iris bed and cut the dead flowers from the hydrangea bush, pulled some
weeds and leaves from the bed by the shed, etc. It took about an hour
to get that done. I fertilized mom's bulbs and planted something for
dad. There are some more of those types of things I need to spend
another day getting done.
Guess I spend the rest of the afternoon watching golf. Duke and Carolina play for the top spot in the ACC tonight at 8.

It's a nasty, windy, rainy day. I've cleared off my desk, done some filing, and paid a couple of bills.
Bob needed a temporary table to set up in the unfinished area of the
basement for his kit operation until he gets his bench built behind the
kitchen. I was using one of those six foot folding tables for my lawn
stuff like bags of grass seed, fertilizer, etc. We moved it over to the
other side of the basement and I took the small Coleman folding camping
table. We had used it for awhile when observing but found we no longer
needed it so I set it up in the basement to store stuff on. It's big
enough for me to store my bagged stuff on to keep it off the floor for
the few times we get water from too much rain. The other things like
sprayers and plastic stuff I put underneath.
I reorganized my lawn equipment area sweeping the floor and getting
things in place for the upcoming season which I needed to do anyway.
Now I need to put the dishes away Bob washed up this morning and do a
few other small chores.
